July 2011 Update

I wanted to post an update on Pop.

He has been doing very well.

We had asked the doctor to postpone his chemo therapy for a while so that he could enjoy a visit with his daughter from Puerto Rico, Eleana and her family. They came to my house and had a great visit with Pop.

We saw the doctors at Fox Chase yesterday. They said that his tumor markers (blood test of cancer progression) showed no change in his cancer progression. This great news meant that even though he was off of chemo for 4 weeks his cancer did not grow. Therefore, they granted him another 6 weeks of reprieve from chemo therapy. Yeap- no chemo for at least 6 more weeks. As you can image, Pop was thrilled and is looked forward to enjoying the summer without any sickness or side effects from chemo.
