Happy Birthday, Pop

Pop’s birthday is on Sunday, January 28th. He’s obviously been through a lot this past year. If you get a chance, please call Pop on his birthday. He leads a pretty lonely and reclusive life these days.

January is a very special month to Pop. He was born in January, came to the U.S. in January, got married in January, his mom and two of his daughters were born in January and (I think) he started working at Philco Ford in January.

As long as I can remember, Pop has reminded me of this list and told me he expects to die in January. Whenever Pop’s spirit was down and he wants to quit, I use this to my advantage and remind him, “You can’t quit now, Dad! It ain’t JANUARY!

We’ll its January 2nd and if you’re reading this, I have a special assignment for you. Call Pop today. Don’t wait for his birthday or the weekend or anything. January can be cold and dark and lonely especially when you’re living by yourself.

Every time we think of you, we thank God for you. It is clear to us that God not only loves you very much but also has put His hand on you for something special. I Thessalonians 1-5
