August 29th

Pop continues to receive chemo therapy every week. I took him today for his appointment. He has been tolerating it with minimal side effects. His only complaint continues to be the dry skin and itchiness that goes along with it.

He is scheduled for his repeat CT scan in two weeks. They will determine if the chemo has been effective in stopping his tumors from any further growth.

Pop had a nice visit last week as all his brothers and sisters gathered at his apartment for some family time. He actually said that he was committed to keeping a closer relationship with them.

Thanks to those who call Pop to offer him words of support and encouragement.

The latest on Pop

Pop continues to receive chemotherapy treatments every week. He remains relatively strong and in good spirits. He still goes for his daily walks and remains active.

Pop had a good week. He spent a lot of time with his daughter from Virginia, Jessie. She was here in Pa. for a few days. She’s the one in the picture. This picture was taken this week. She just turned 10 years old. Yeap- she’s a big one. She is a lot of fun and brings joy to all of us.

Titi Elba & Tio Luis are expected to be in town this week also. Pop had said that he wanted to be with all of his siblings together. No spouses. No kids. So, at his request they are all getting together this week. Can you imagine ALL those Rolons in one room together? Ear plugs required! They are a close family and truly enjoy each others company.

Pop’s next CT scan is scheduled for September 19th. We’ll surely know more about his progress at that time.

Thanks to those who keep in touch with Pop. A special thanks to Jenelle for calling Pop. He loves to hear from her.
